Google Analytics is easy to get started and figure out. I went from a non-user with no training to someone who can analyze and report on monthly traffic. You can see at a glance what pages need SEO work and which ones might be surprising you with great performance. I like that it is simple to drill down to exactly the type of data you are looking for any period of time in your site's history.
There's nothing negative to say from me, google makes it easy to get the stats you need. If you're used to google and not shy with trying new programs, you'll do just fine. This could be simplified slightly with a better graphic interface or easier terminology for someone who has never used this before. If you go into this knowing what parameters you're looking for, you can find it. If you don't know what to do or where to start, a tutorial could help out.
Google Analytics has made it so that it is is easy to track exactly how well or poorly a campaign is performing. My company works closely with another marketing firm, and Google Analytics gives us the baseline we need to fine tune our SEO, email campaigns on many levels. This service has helped us realize what pages we could improve upon and what gets us the traffic we are seeking.
One thing for sure that Google offers this fantastic tool for free. Every business, from small to a large company can get comprehensive data analytic that is reliable without spending any penny.
When you start using Google Analytic for the first time, you will find it hard to understand the UI - you will need a learning process.
Since I'm in a digital marketing business, it's very helpful to get deep analytic about my audience; who they are, where they come from, which content performs best, how long they spend time on the website, and so on.
The ability to add goals and track the flow of users through the website
There should be more pre-filled reports and montirots
Ability to make sure potential clients see all the information on the website.
Google Analytics is the most robust web analytics program I've used for online marketing and ecommerce businesses. Because it is the standard, it integrates with virtually every other kind of online/digital marketing software, and does an excellent job converging data points from other software into one platform. From an analysis standpoint, with a bit of training Google Analytics provides deep data points on your website to help you make very educated decisions regarding your online marketing and advertising. Additionally, you can clearly understand the click-through path your prospects take, what disconnects they may have on the road to become customers and repeat customers.
With any enterprise-level software like Google Analytics, there is always a learning curve. While Google Analytics is very intuitive in nature and layout, it does require investing time to become familiar with all of its capabilities and to get the full benefit out of the software.
Within online/digital marketing, Google Analytics helps me understand what channels are performing the best for me from an advertising standpoint. It also provides actionable data on where my prospects are going on my site, where they are coming from, how long they are there, and how far did they get into my sales funnel. From that data, I have actionable information I can use to better target my customers and position my offerings in the right light that captures their attention and hopefully results in more sales.
Easy to use, and scalable based on knowledge.
Dont really have enough experience to have any dislikes.
Helps analyze demographics.
With Google Anayitics I can evaluate with confidence the performance of my digital marketing and sales actions. It is essential for any marketing or sales campaing. As they say "You Can't Manage What You Don't Measure", and Google Analytics allow me to measure in details all relevant information about my digital presence. There are a lot of fetures in the application, you can monitor many metrics, generate reports, compare parameters, amont many other features, it is really an excellent tool fo anyone serious about digital marketing.
Sometimes it is a litle complex, with a lot of information and options, but at the same time it is an advantage.
Evaluation of digital marketing and sales actions performance. Analytics gives me all information that I need to make a good evaluation of our digital actions.
I like how many options there are for monitoring and analyzing traffic for my website. I can be very detailed or look at the bigger pictures, depending on my needs at the time.
Sometimes I get overwhelmed, and there are still parts of the program I'm not sure how to use.
I use Google Analytics to see how much traffic my website gets and where it comes from. I think seeing where it comes from and what times/days get the most traffic is really helpful.
As a professional web publisher, I use Google Analytics and count on it for accurate reporting about the traffic, sessions, demographics of my audience and more. Many of the companies, PR firms, blogging networks etc. require that we have it as a connected account so they can see quickly what type of social media reach we have.
It is not as user-friendly as I would expect it to be. I do not have any major issues but I know many bloggers who are lost trying to figure it out.
Getting accurate reports about my websites and the unique month visitors, visitor demographics, total hits etc. By having this information I can see what is working and what is not to generate more traffic to our sites.
Insights into people who click on my ads
It take a long time to understand how to analyze your data
Finding new clients. A big benefit is seeing where people are clicking on your ad, that helped find the perfect spot to open our brick and mortar
Easy to build reports, manage alerts. Offer reliable data. Great support forums and documentations. Easy to implement
Have some limitations about data collection for privacy. Better ways to funnel analysis. Need a better a/b test and support for real time personalitions.
We use that for years. Maybe we can use integrated to some marketing automation tool
The free version is extremely powerful. You can track almost anything in relation to your customers, including tracking conversions and revenue.
The interface is generally easy to use but it is not easy to setup correctly. It takes time buy someone who knows what they are doing to get things to a point where you can gleam actionable data from.
For an online business the tool is indispensable in figuring out what works and doesn't work to convert users into paying customers. No sense in driving a bunch of traffic to your site if you don't know if you are also converting them to paying customers and why.
I like that I can report to my clients where their traffic comes from, what queries drive their traffic (for the most part), what technology searchers use to search, etc. This gives me the tools I need to direct their social media and SEO efforts.
I do not like that Google will not reveal what searchers search for if they're signed in. Building content around what queries searchers use help me figure out if I'm wording our content the right way. Without being able to factor in how Google users search is a huge chunk of a puzzle that's missing.
I am using Google Analytics information to build better SEO content, title tags, photo alt data, etc for my clients. Being able to get them ranked higher in the organic listings is a huge benefit to their businesses.
FOr the most part tracking my click thorugh and bounce rate is accurate, but for my ecommerce store that uses a Word PRess Plug In the analytics within Google and on my site are often different.
There is not much that I dislike. Google is our main source of traffic so it only makes since for us to use their analytic tool for our SEO measuring. The things that I have issue with have more to do with my ability to understand how it's relevant to my needs.
I use this to track my web site traffic and measure seo campaigns. Primarily we track click through rate and conversion rate.
My favourite part of Google Analytics (GA) is that it is free and passively collects rich data on your traffic to your website. The longer you have a properly setup account tracking your data the more valuable it becomes. The integration with Search Console is awesome. Also there are alerts which warn you about sudden major changes in the data that GA is receiving that can be extremely helpful in fixing otherwise catastrophic problems as soon as they surface.
GA has a significant learning curve and if your account isn't configured properly (or you make a mistake with filters) you can wreck your data. Permanent changes that may or may not be backwards compatible really make you hesitate before altering your existing Views.
Measuring the impact of your digital marketing is critical and GA can help do this in a concise and consistent way if you know what to look for. I've used GA to find hidden issues affecting the visitors to my website, increase engagement on posts and help track attribution to which channels are providing the most value.
It is a critical tool for managing our web engagement. I go to it everyday to evaluate how our customers are interacting with our web sites and always glean new insights. It is one of the most important tools as part of my job. The ability to compare data based on dates is the best feature.
Nothing really but if I have to choose one then I would say the page layout and index could be a bit more user friendly. It takes a bit when you first start using it to get comfortable as to where all of the data is located and how to quickly access it.
Understanding and learning about our customer is the problem that Google Analytics solves for us and the benefits are endless. We are learning something new everyday about our customers and this platform is responsible for that.
Google has their analytics figured out. They're easy to understand, easy to explain to clients and easy to implement.
I wish there was a notification if analytics didn't seem to be working correctly so we could address the issue before it gets too far.
We use Google Analytics for all of our clients websites. It's great for them to have access to their analytics directly so that they can see for themselves what's going on.
Easy to use, friendly interface and generally quite accurate.
It can be harder for a noobie to install it easily.
Checking the visitors, bounce rate, measuring paid campaign results
It helps in knowing where my visitors come from and what's the most page they view, and what's the least so I can enhance it.
It's complicated panel and how hard is to set goals.
Running Affiliate Business
The fact that google analytics is free and a comprehensive analytics reporting tool.
Sometimes it is hard to explain to clients the differences in Adwords and analytics tracking which does lead to lots to auditing. It would be best to use the same system
Reporting, reporting, reporting. Without reporting it is hard to show a client what is working and then making educated decisions to optimise accounts
The easiest way to configure and put in production. The experience and the informations I can see in reports
It's very dificult to use in a webapp. I need to use another tool to collect information about my application.
Corporative Site Analytics, conversion rate, measure marketing strategy and return of marketing investment
