There's not really anything about Network Solutions that stands out for me. Typically if I have the option, I will steer clear of NS. The pricing is pretty affordable but that's about it.
There's a couple key things that really turned me off from NS. The first one being their support. They have live chat but it took me forever to get through to a live technician and when I did I felt like I was getting cookie cutter answers that didn't really help me. I also wish they would send out some sort of notification when their server crashes. I've had a few sites go down and a client noticed before we did which is embarrassing. The next thing that needs a major improvement is their softwares UI. The UI is hard to navigate through and I've messed up a DNS setting numerous times before because of the confusing backend.
There's not too many benefits I've noticed. I just think they need to give their backend a bit of a facelift / revamp and work on delighting their current customers a little more. For the same price I can get a great experience from one of their competitors.
Nothing as such. Their user interface is friendly. Their pricing structure is flexible.
Their billing department is all messed up. They don't have proper communication techniques. They don't inform their customers after their server crashes. We had to check their twitter account when our site was down as they post updates on twitter instead of sending an email to the customer.
Benefits nothing as such. There are lots of problems. They need to rethink their strategy and provide at least what the customer expects.
Being able to have them host our website location and the email service
The worst communication and follow through anyplace in business. If you ever really need real account admin/primary help you will be placed in a endless merry go round of helplesness.
It used to be a great place to have your domain and email services. It is no longer being of benift after being locked out of our account since October of 2023 (2 months and counting) We sent them everyhting incluiding photo ID but chat support cannot do anyhting other then send it to a higher place that is the worst at follow up and commmunication.
Nothing really. They did maintain my inactive web domains.
I retired and wished to cancel ongoing payments for web domain names. They made it incredibly difficult online, necessitating a call to Customer Service. After some negotiations by phone, I was told that my credit card payment WOULD BE REFUNDED and asked to take a survey. Since I thought my request had been granted, I gave a positive review. The next day, I received an email that I would NOT be receiving a refund. Total FRAUD
None
Its free; use to be tolerable; it's not now; don't get started with it
It's worse than aol ever was 25 years ago
It just "updated" its email service and it's beyond awful. Keeps you waiting up to 30 seconds on almost all emails; I wish I had never started with networksolutions; stuck with it now and can only hope it gets better.
literally nothing. Speeds are terrible, support is worse. Everything that is free and a click on literally any other host, is wildly expensive. For example an SSL, free with almost any host, is nearly $100 per year.
their support will take hours if not days to actually reply. the people on the chat are trained to lie to you (an employee actually told me this straight out). They have actively destroyed my site, and are dodging calls and chats to fix it. after i paid them $100 for a service i later found out was $15/mo and free for the first month.
they are causing far more problems than they are solving.
Nothing at all. Their business model and practices are way outdated. Their pricing structure is absolutely ridiculous like it should be illegal to charge that much for a domain let alone they charge a fee just for domain forwarding!? I didn't think there could be a worse company than GoDaddy or HostGator but Network Solutions just may have them beat. I will say their customer support does answer rather quickly but aside from that this company has nothing going for them.
Everything. Practices outdated. The backend dashboard is outdated and not user-friendly. Their pricing model is utter nonsense. I don't know who in their right mind would ever pay these prices. They charge for every little thing and then hold your domains for ransom when you want to try to transfer them away to another provider.
They are causing more problems than solutions which is ironic given their name. The cost of their services are utterly ridiculous, costing business owners more money than almost any other domain provider.
Not much. getting domain names is easy, after that....
Customer service is awful. They suddenly do upgrades and they don't work or you have to make changes on all your computers to be compatible
Domains but also ecommerce and mail servers and webmail
Easy interface to buy domain, easy management of domains purchase, chat
I advise anyone sane to avoid doing any business with this company. To say it's a fraudulent company would be compliant, considering the way this company manages itself. First, we purchased a domain more than 20 years ago, which was dear to us and our business. Due to an unfortunate mistake, a finance department official canceled the domain renewal charge (because we were not able to recognize the charge in the billing statement which was network solutions' fault) . As we realized that we called the network soltuins and settled the amount of money, we owned them. However, the domain did not appear in our account. I tried to contact chat support which are completely incompetent. If you have chat support, they should be able to solve all problems and not tell you to call the call center. Thereafter I called the call center and after being transferred for 5 times (and waiting over an hour and a half) they told me the domain name need to be "redeemed," and I have to pay 350 USD for it. This is total nonsense. This is a scam company. The matter has been transferred to our legal department which are going to settle it in a court of law. I hope nobody will ever do business with network solutions!!!
They do not solve any issue you have, its a company of completely incompetent people.
There is nothing that I like about this company.
There is a reason why business owners who are extremely busy take time out of there day to write a poor review, it's due to Network Solutions complete lack of customer service. If I could recommend anything to small business owners searching for an email provider, find somone else...
They don't solve problems, they just create the problem and then do nothing to fix it when you call into there suposed customer service team.
Nothing special it is an essential service
Every call ends with you needing to contact our paid support. Using lack of knowledge to get business, Dirty philosophy of using users who are not savvy in technology, Not respecting even when they notice one has a computer background.
Web hosting
There's nothing I can say good about Network Solutions. Their customer service is the worst to deal with, and their products always give us problems. In comparison with competitors, NS has fallen down a rung or 6. I am planning to move to a different provider very soon.
Network Solutions used to be a great company to deal with and had an excellent reputation. Unfortunately, as of a couple years ago, customer service has declined to long wait times and never reaching full resolution of your issue. Every time I order an SSL certificate, I complete all of my processing. Still, they fail to achieve their portion, meaning I must wait weeks before I realize the certificate will not be issued despite all validation passing. Calling them and waiting on hold for hours, they push a few buttons and I get the certificate. The following year - rinse and repeat. They do not care.
I don't believe Network Solutions is solving any problems. It's a domain registrar and SSL provider. There's not a lot that should be going wrong with these processes, but amazingly, they have accomplished breaking the process for us (and probably many other unspoken IT heroes). They can deliver horrific customer service and withhold your products from you for several weeks until you call them... They could care less about your issues, making very minimal effort to fix them or help.
Nothing. I only had 2 sites so wasnt using much and did not have to make many changes. so for the most part all was fine until I need to upgrade to another PHP version.
Their Customer UI is Antique. I have been with them for over 30 years, and it hasn't changed. They finally updated their PHP version, and I was not able to get the simple INFO.PHP file to work when changing the version of my unix hosting service to php 7.4 . They kept on saying it was my web site causing the problem. Called customer support 5 times was hung up on twice. So when I had enough and moved things to another provider that works, I called them back to see about a refund of the 2 years left on my hosting and they said no refund. I then said the to man that having been with you for over 25 years, does it not stand for anything? His answer stright out "NO". I have transfered all my hosting to another provider and it is up and working, I feel very used after 25 years of being with company.
They have not helped me solve anything. Maybe 10 to 15 years ago they had better customer service, but none of their reps knew enough to understand that it was not my site causing the problem. Only had one file on the site, "info.php" and they could not understand that it was a problem on their end when I changed versions of PHP.
Nothing at all. Terrible service. Find another vendor.
Was advised to use Network Solutions to register a domain name. What a mistake. First, they do not keep your information private. Sold to tons of 3rd parties and my email and phone were constantly bombarded with offers to build me a site. Second, even though I have no site yet, Network Solutions was charging me "start hosting" fees. As a new user, I do no have any idea about hosting fees. Network Solutions is preying on new users. I have no site but they were charging me to host empty space. Third, in the terms and conditions they have it written that users agree to auto-renewals. So the hosting fees were automatically renewed several months. #Shady Fourth, users are not allowed to turn off their auto-renewals themselves. Users must call and/or use the Network Solutions chat to have their customer service do it for them. #supershady Fifth, I disputed the charges with my credit card. Network Solutions is holding my domain names hostage until I pay the hosting fees, then they will allow me to transfer my domain names to a different site. #ultrashady What a terrible business. Use Hover.com or GoDaddy. Cheaper, more use friendly, and doesn't charge to protect your privacy.
Network solutions created problems for me. They did not solve any. Zero benefit.
Local representatives are usually available.
The sever provided to my email account gives the message "“The server you are connected to is using a security certificated cannot be verified. The target principal name is incorrect. Do you want to continue using this server?” Botton-line is that my "professional email address" is not secure. Added to this is the difficulty of setting up this email address on various devices whether it be MS Outlook, Gmail, or Apple.
I have recently sent them three emails regarding a change that they're making, which will make receiving emails on my iPhone even more difficult. No response has been received.
NOTHING, Bunch of Scammers ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE TAKE MONEY AND NEVER DELIVER THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING WORST RATING ONLINE PATHETIC COMPANY
BIG SCAMMERS, I ordered UNIX hosting and My time for our website migration. They took the money and didnot do the work! Online chat USELESS Phone service USELESS e-mails USELESS I am filing a FRAUD incident against network solutions with my bank. Stay away from this company, they are pathetic!
ZERO BENEFIT ZERO SERVICE USELESS PHONES USELESS EMAILS USELESS CHAT QUICK TAKING MONEY AND YOU WILL NEVER GET A SERVICE OR ANYONE WILL TURN THEIR BACK TO YOU SCAMMERS
They were generally reliable for hosting
Canceling was a nightmare! Kept billing!
Very minimal. Only relied on email and website hosting
There is nothing I actually like about NS, I take all clients off of NS as soon as possible.
Everything, the difficulty in using the platform, transfering domains, etc. they make it nearly impossible to use. And everything you do you're getting cross sold and total BS services.
buying/holding domains
Their logo looks like it was professionally designed. They have a good WhoIs lookup service. I would avoid most other things though.
Their prices are much higher than comparable services and I'm not sure how they justify it. Any interaction I have had with support has been poor, and their actual service doesn't really differentiate itself from others that are (much) cheaper.
I only use Network Solutions when there is no other option. Moving domain registrars can be disruptive, so we'll sometimes stay
user interface is nice enough. webmail client seems to work ok
When attempting to integrate our marketing platform into our email client (NS webmail), we reached out to Network Solutions about 6-8 times. They could never help with our DNS record entry issues (not being able to use characters like "_" or ' ~ ` in the records to validate DKIM or allowing us to verify our Postmaster account so our marketing platform could note any spam complaints through Yahoo!'s feedback verification loop. Not only could they not help us, they would end every call with assurance that the issue would be "elevated to their engineers" and intention to contact us again in 1-2 business days. We MIGHT have received a return call once. Maybe... So, we would wait, call them back and basically start over each time. Nothing was ever accomplished. If I could convince our IT department to completely move our large amount of assets to a new domain services provider, I would be much happier.
i use the webmail for customer communication. i can check webmail online.
