The simplicity of dynamic views and the ability to make a dashboard to show data or items on a smart sheet. The ability to share data with teams inside and outside the organization.
My biggest complaint is not being able to sort a smartsheet after a filter is applied. I would like to be see all items that meet my filter and from there be able sort a column from A --> Z.
The problem that smartsheet is solving is a custom workflow and sharing information across many departments and team members. This allows for viewing, comments and feedback to be captured in one place.
the automation is very helpful, we use smartsheet to send emails and create cases in Salesforce including different workflows for approvals by managers.

The main thing I don't like right now is that I have no easy way of obtaining more information related to training or source material outside of the webinars. If some Tutorial YouTube videos were sponsored by Smartsheet, that would allow me the visual ability to watch, perform, and interact with other individuals trying to learn the same concepts.
SmartSheet is allowing our company to grow, stay organized, and even find ways to streamline our workflow by allowing us the overview to see what steps are needed for our field techs to perform.

Smartsheet helps manage work input from outside companies via forms, which streamlines internal workflow processes.
SS is extremely user friendly and has a great looking UI. I utilize SS to track multiple projects and share with clients in an on-going basis. Their feedback is the same as mine and love how easily something can be exported to Excel. My favorite functionality would have to be the workflows as I utilize these to build reminders of imported deadlines and action items.
I honestly do not have a glaring dislike currently for this solution. It meets all of my needs and I continue to learn of new functionality on a daily basis. I will continue to recommend this solution to others over its competition.
Makes sharing a solution very easy and users are able to quickly pick up the product. As I said before we currently utilize the solution on all projects and have not heard negative feedback from the clients we share our workspaces with.
I love the ability to actually link documents to specific rows. This allows easy access and tracking of documents and on projects where there can be tens of thousands of documents, it creates a more intuitive logging system for documents.
Smartsheet needs to export formulas to excel. Some clients don't want to use Samrtsheet as there is a bit of a learning curve and they want excel. This doesn't come with formulas when exported.
Smartsheet helps in logging and tracking documents. We are also exploring the document generation section, to quickly and create templates, which saves the team significant time.

I like how we can set it up to address any of our needs we come across. Its very flexible and we can make it work how we want to. I can manage my teams schedule in an effective way with it.
I have not found any major dislikes for the platform thus far. Some things arent super intuivitve but everything is usually able to be sorted out with some searching for the answer.
I have my entire estimating team's workload in a sheet. It tracks our bidding history and also current ongoing tasks. It also allows me to build out dashboards and develop performance metrics as well.
Smartsheet has many applications, from simple sheets with intake forms to multiple sheets communicating through Data Meshes. Before, I used to use Google sheets to track different assets. At the time, I thought that was the best approach. Then I discovered Smartsheet. Smartsheet has been a game changer for our operations.
Smartsheet offers so many different add-ons that training information is hard to come by. For example, Data Shuttle is an available add-on, but it's hard to find info on how to use it best.
We can track project status on hundreds of projects. We can also fulfill different document requests through a form and keep track of the request through the associated sheet.

Access can be a limitation, but I am eager to get into the data connections to implement different views that could potentially resolve this issue.

Smartsheet is a nice option instead of MS Project and Google Sheets. Users can edit tasks assigned to them, alerts can be set up, and update requests can be sent.
Linking of sheets can be challenging. There are times when you need to create "helper" columns with formulas to complete some tasks.

In addition to Smartsheet being live and editable, the ability to add external web links and photos is my favorite feature. It promotes collaboration across several teams and houses valuable information in one central place.
The downside to Smarthseet is the inability to build multiple sheets within one file/sheet. Similar to excel, you can have numerous tabs on one file, I'd like to see that on Smartsheet as well.
It solves visibility by giving information access to teammates across the organization. Our team is more collaborative and informed as a result.

Sometimes the workspace feature can be confusing. It would be nice to be able to format specific words in BOLD per cell as well instead of all of the text.

My favorite part about smartsheets is its user-friendly approach to writing functions. Essentially, you only type the keyword of what you are trying to achieve & the program begins automatically filling in the function code for you. I find this incredibly helpful as I've never learned Xcel or Google Sheets - So essentially, I'm learning to write critical cell functions fast and effortlessly.
A steep learning curve is involved, and the program is virtually impossible to learn on your own because you must set up most of the sheet and report parameters immediately. This makes going back and making major sheet adjustments a bit difficult. You HAVE to watch videos and tutorials before beginning.
Smartsheet is solving our day-to-day scheduling issues seamlessly. I'm spending much less time update and projecting schedules & my team is able to always have a task ready to work on.
Dashboard. I love creating dashboard for my team and managers so that they can view our programs in a simplified report that is also engaging. I also love the automation feature as it removes a lot of manual labor.
Regarding webinars and training opportunities, some times just doesn't work for me because of my location and time difference. I could review recorded or already available trainings but I find live training more valuable.
Reporting requirements. Smartsheet has given me live reporting that can easily accessible. The automatic updates has decreased the amount of time I put into building reports. Meetings has been very efficient and I noticed that there's very little preparation now since I've been using the dashboard.
